Frequently Asked Questions

Are you having questions about our site? We have put together a list of the most commonly asked questions we are asked. If you can't find your answer here, click on CONTACT US under the RESOURCES tab and shoot us an email! We will get your questions answered.

Will you still be producing the monthly paper?

Unfortunately no. We have decided to upgrade ourselves to this website. With this new website, we will be able to have recorded interviews, clips of sports games, pep rallies, special events, and much more! We think the people of Valley View will enjoy this easy and interactive website more than the monthly paper. So please enjoy and take advantage of all that technology has to offer.

01

How often will the website be updated?

Lucky for us, we have a class period designated to the Beacon. Thus, we will be able to keep the website updated daily. This way, you won't ever miss out on news or an event here at Valley View!

02

How can I be a part of the Beacon?

Ah! We are excited that people show interest in joining the Beacon staff. All you have to do is talk to the counselor about switching your schedule to Journalism. It's a third period class. We are looking for outgoing writers or on screen reporters. If you are interested, feel free to talk to Mrs. Steed about being a part of our staff.

03

Do you sell ads for the website?

As an extremely new website, we have yet to get around to selling ads. However, we are extremely willing to sell ads to those who are interested. Just email us at vvbeacon@hotmail.com and we will be happy to work with you!

04

How did the Beacon get started?

Journalism is still a relatively new class at Valley View. It has only been offered for four years now. Of course, as journalists, we needed something to produce. Thus, the Beacon came into creation. Click on ABOUT THE BEACON under the RESOURCES tab and read all about The Beacon when it was just an idea to the ever growing website!

What can we expect from The Beacon in the future?

Much more! Everyday we toss around ideas on how to improve The Beacon. Right now, we are talking about creating an app, but that's all we will share. Just know that more is in store to make it easier for you, as a Valley View parent or student, to be in the know.
