How The Beacon came to be...

In 2008, I came to teach journalism which had previously been an online class with minimum enrollment. My first journalism class was extremely enthusiastic about writing stories, and they soon proposed that we produce a school paper, which had not been done for many years. They brainstormed names and decided on The Beacon, a staff formed and in the spring of 2009, the first issue went online. Now in 2013, the staff once again wants The Beacon to be more timely and interactive, and they have developed a website which contains videos and constant updates. Congratulations to my journalists, past and present, who push to be creative and original.
